NEW YORK, June 30, 2016 – Labbrand hosted its first US-based LABSquare event on Tuesday, June 28 at WeWork Dumbo Heights, New York, USA. The seminar, themed “Learning from China: Examples of Chinese Digital Innovation That Can Help You Perform at Home,” was led by Digital Strategy Consultant Alex Lessard, who shared case studies on Chinese digital innovation and explained how brands and businesses can best use these lessons to increase performance in both the Chinese and US markets.
Alex Lessard claimed that China has the world’s most sophisticated digital ecosystem with the highest propensity towards new technologies, pointing towards Uber, Burberry, and Facebook as examples of US companies who already understand this. Alex defined specific digital innovations that have been pioneered in China, including Chatbots, “true” Social Commerce, and Digital Democratization. He concluded by reminding the audience that “A head start does not always mean everything. WeChat does not tell us exactly what is to come, but all we can say is it’s a good place to look.”
